Marc Jacobs, born April 9, 1963 in New York, USA, is an American fashion designer.
Jacobs was educated at Parsons School of Design, in New York, and in 1986 he launched his first collection under his own name. The following year he became the youngest ever to be awarded the fashion award. The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Perry Ellis Award for New Fashion Talent.
Jacobs quickly became a name in the fashion world, and in 1992 he was awarded the more prestigious ''The CFDA Women's Designer of the Year'' Award.
